Will it actually hold thick hair?
That's what the size is for. At 4.1 inches across it takes a far bigger section than a standard clip, and the deep teeth grip rather than skate over the surface.

Is it going to snap?
These are a single moulded piece with a wide jaw rather than a thin claw, which is the usual failure point. Don't force it onto more hair than it can close around and it'll last.

How big is 4.1 inches, really?
About the length of your index finger, and wider than nearly anything sold as a “large” clip. It is a statement-sized clip. That's deliberate.

Does the matte finish scratch?
It's a frosted finish rather than a coating sprayed on top, so it wears evenly instead of chipping back to shiny plastic.

Which colours come in the set?
Cream, tan, coffee and black. If you want a specific brighter colour, buy it as a single — the set is neutrals only.
